Sen Carper of Delaware against the public option

Not surprising at all.

Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) told HuffPost Tuesday he would “probably not” support the public option in a floor vote and that continuing to push for it is “deluding” people who still have hope.

“We don’t have the votes to pass the public option in the Senate. We tried very hard to find a way to accomplish something together that would pass muster in the Senate [and] couldn’t do that. For those who somehow suggest it’s going to happen to now, they’re deluding people,” he said.

So would he vote for it?

“Probably not. I think we delude the supporters of the public option to think that it still has legs,” he said.

Wouldn’t want to delude your citizens and constituents with false of hope. I can’t wait till I see him at the Ymca again. Now I have something to converse with him about.  Here is a guy that has retired from the Military and has free health care for the rest of life, telling you that he doesn’t want to delude you.

Tom Carper is a reason “We don’t have the votes to pass the public option in the Senate.”

    To All Folks in Delaware,
Keep putting the pressure on Senator Carper. I have written my own senator, Mark Begich, four times on this issue. We now have 40 senators saying they endorse the public option through reconciliation. I believe the eleven holdouts will have a harder and harder time saying “no” as the calls keep coming in and more and more senators sign on. Don’t give up! THE PUBLIC OPTION IS THE ONLY WAY TO FORCE COMPETITIVE RATES IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY.
Thanks for your hard work and perserverance!
